A Message From Our Co-Founder

UPDATE 5/18/2020:

Dear Parents,

Thank you for your patience and cooperation during these unprecedented times. We wanted to provide an update to the status of the D League.

We have been in discussion with Grace Community School and the City of Tyler with regards to the timing and protocols in restarting the D League. As of right now, the 2020 Spring D League season is still suspended. We are looking forward to being able to coordinate and set a start date in the very near future in accordance with local and state government.

The dynamics of this situation are continuously evolving and shifting, and we want to make sure that above all else, we put the health and safety of our student-athletes, parents, and staff as our top priority. As we continue to plan our seasons, post-pandemic, we are working as an organization to develop extended safety protocols to protect everyone involved. If you have any questions as to the symptoms of COVID-19, please visit: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/symptoms.html

As a reminder, spots already reserved for the current postponed league will be honored once the league is rescheduled, as well as new registrations. We encourage you to visit KODleague.com, as well as our Facebook to stay updated.

It is our joy to serve the community of Tyler and East Texas. And we cannot wait to have the opportunity to see those smiling faces and eager minds back out on the court! We continue to pray for the health, provision, and healing of not only Tyler and the surrounding areas, but the state of Texas, the USA, and the world.

God bless us all,

Whitney Mitchell

UPDATE 3/30/2020:

Dear Parents,

In coordination and adherence with the state and local government, we will continue to postpone the Spring 2020 D League season. The current Texas "Stay-at-Home" order is currently set to last through April 10th, 2020,  and in coordination with Grace Community School we are hoping to begin after this date.
We are sure you are all aware of the rapidly changing dynamics of this situation, which are shifting on a day-by-day basis. Providing a safe and healthy environment for our kids and families is of the utmost importance.   We will continue to plan, prepare, and adjust accordingly in this current global climate.

As a reminder, spots already reserved for the current postponed league will  be honored once the league is re-scheduled, as well as new registrations.

We are working on interactive features to stay connected to the game we love and help elevate the youth and their educational and athletic goals and aspirations. We encourage you to visit KODleague.com, as well as our Facebook to stay updated. If you have any questions as to the symptoms of COVID-19, please visit: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/symptoms.html

We pray for the health, provision, and healing of not only Tyler and the surrounding areas, but the state of Texas, the USA, and the world.

God bless us all,

Dear Parents,

In response to COVID-19, we will temporarily postpone our Spring 2020 D League season. We made this decision to safeguard the health and well-being of our student-athletes, parents, staff, and everyone connected to our game and the general public. This hiatus will last at least 14 days from the start of the season, originally March 17th, and we intend to resume, March 31st, or when it becomes safe for all concerned.

In the meantime, we will continue to coordinate with infectious disease and public health experts along with government officials to determine safe protocols for resuming our the D League. As we develop the appropriate course for future D League games and practices, we will keep you informed of any changes as soon as they happen. Spots already reserved for our postponed league will be honored when the league is rescheduled, as well as new registrations.

We encourage you to visit KODleague.com for the latest news, updates and upcoming interactive features to stay connected to the game we love. You will also find guidelines on how to keep yourself and your family safe and healthy.

This remains a complex and rapidly evolving situation, in witnessing the handling of this situation by the NBA, NCAA, and other elite sports organizations, we are reminded that we are all part of a broader society with a responsibility to look out for one another. That is what we at KODC will continue to do, and we are grateful for your understanding and for being the best parents and student-athletes in basketball.

God bless us all,

Whitney Mitchell
